I had a Vasectomy Spring of 06, a little over a year ago. during the procedure the right side went off with out a hitch and much discomfort, the left however was an undecended testicle which was successfully operated on when I was younger. When the doctor started the procedure there was a lot of pain and discomfort. Since then during before and during sexual encounters the testicles roll around and it feels as if the left one rolls over the stitches inside and causes an extreme itch and sometimes pain, some days even with out sexual activities it can be uncomfortable. Is it because the vasectomy was so short to begin with, and what are my possible options to rectify the situation?

    Dr. Edward Karpman

Whenever someone has had previous surgery in their scrotum, all bets are off, as they say. Especially surgery for undescended testicles. The anatomy of your testicle and scrotum after surgery for an undescended testicle has been changed. It is difficult to say at this point what the physician who performed your vasectomy might have encountered or what he might have needed to do to complete the operation. The vasculature in undescended testicles can be shorter than what we find in normally descended testes. The best person to answer this question is the urologist who is most familiar with your current anatomy.
