After our 2nd child now aged 2 my husband had a vasectomy 3 and half years ago and went for all his test until he was all cleared. I have now missed my period for 2 consecutive months (beginning of my last period was 24 August08) & lasted for 7 days. Normally I only have a 3-4 day period. I am now 34 years of age I’ve taken x4 pregnancy test including 1 at a doctor’s surgery – all negative. I feel very bloated & have terrible indigestion & heartburn on some days – my belly is also swollen but not hard (not sure why). Slight cramps at certain times but no sore breasts or tender nipples – I am very worried is there a possibility I could be pregnant & maybe test at a later stage maybe after the 3rd missed periods? Please help, I need some reassurance.
Various medical conditions can mimic the symptoms of pregnancy. Four negative pregnancy tests and a partner who is documented to be sterile after a vasectomy 3 1/2 years ago is reassuring evidence that the symptoms are not due to pregnancy. Evaluation by a general medical doctor would be strongly recommended in this situation.
