Bruising after vasectomy
Apr 13th 2008adminGeneral questions
I am 27 years old and I have 4 kids. I just got the vasectomy done 2 days ago. I had sex with my fiancee last night. I’m afraid it might have done something to my scrotum area. What is possible to happen? Theres no blood coming out and I feel the same as if I were resting but with a case of blue balls. There’s slight bruising from the operation as well. Testicles are same size. Should i be worried? I also get dry mouth al ot. What’s the reasons for this?
Mild bruising and swelling immediately after a vasectomy procedure is normal. The maximum swelling is usually noted at 48 hours after the procedure and the maximum bruising usually occurs 5 days after the procedure. Sexual intercourse immediately after the vasectomy procedure can prolong the healing process. It is usually advised to refrain from intercourse for at least 3-5 days after the procedure. As long as the swelling and bruising regress in the appropriate time manner, there should be minimal concern of any damage. Dry mouth is not a complaint usually associated with vasectomy. Medications such as pain medications prescribed for comfort after the procedure can cause dry mouth.
