David has his vasectomy way back in 1987. He says "It might be helpful to those considering to report on 17 years post vas. Looking back, this was one the best decisions - had a few partners since and alway great for both of us that no worry about pregnancy."

"My vasectomy at age 19 - I was childfree before it was fashionable!" is David's title. This story is added to both the childfree and veterans sections as he had it done way back in 1980. It's a very interesting story, and he concludes that "If you are really ready to make that decision, don't let anyone dissuade you, it is your choice and your path in life. Women aren't the only ones who have to "prove" to their doctors that this is what is best for them and their futures, although my experience pales in brevity to the wait some of you have gone through to become sterile."

"I always said I'd never have the snip, but life changes many things! A celebration of ten sperm-free years."

I'm the webmaster of this site, and this is my story. I originally added my story to the site back in early 2000, and I thought it would be a good idea to celebrate a decade of being sperm-free by updating my story.

"43 years on" is the title. "I just had my 70th birthday in October, and we have never been sorry that we decided on a vasectomy. Of course, the love of my life is 68 (she'll be 69 on Saturday), and the vasectomy hasn't been an important consideration for many years."

John didn't really want a vasectomy. He was persuaded by his wife into having one based on the opinion of her ob/gyn. John feels that different opinion from a different ob/gyn makes his vasectomy unnecessary.
The 5 year update details the changes in his life since the vasectomy, and his current views on it.

"My advice is to all men. Get a vasectomy to make your lover or wife happy. We had ours in 1956. Our sex life is much better and both of us are sexier all the time. Any discomfort is well worth the future results."

Lee's story is written 23 years after his vasectomy. He had his vasectomy before he got married. Both him and his wife to be had medical problems, so he had a vasectomy and they ultimately adopted a child. He concludes:- "The FREEDOM of worry allowed us to grow and glow together and become one-flesh. In our early married years we were able to explore and experience all the joys and pleasures of our sexuality without fear of pregnancy. It allowed us to get to know and experience each other more fully, at any hour of any day, at any time of the month. This spontaneity brought us together more than any other aspect of our wonderful relationship."

Ray had his vasectomy back in 1970. Things were different then. It had only recently been legalised in most European countries. An interesting perspective on the past, and a comparison with today.

Interesting story about a vasectomy performed in Dubai way back in 1979. It includes information on the culture prevailing at the time, and Tony has added his thoughts about how he feels about vasectomy 26 years later.

"I have to say that with all I had read that the no scalpel really does work well and I am very proud and happy to have it done and can hardly wait for the sample count reports. By the way, the doctor told me I was the 2nd oldest person he had performed it on. If anything it has brought my significant other and myself closer together." The update details his feelings upon being given the "All clear".
