"Not as bad as I thought"
I am 35 years old and have two great kids. My wife and I had two not so great experiences over the summer. She was late with the old period twice. It was nerve racking for both of us. We have our retirement planned and our children's college fund planned. I was not looking forward to having to work for another four years and trying to save for a third child's college fund.
So after much prodding from her and investigating by myself, Mainly speaking with friends and coworkers who have already had the procedure done, I decided to go for it. I chickened out the first time. I cancelled my initial appointment with my doctor. I used the "something came up" excuses.
However, I finally went to the consultation. He was receptive to my concerns. I told him I was ready. I made the appointment and was a nervous wreck for three weeks. The day finally came. I had heard from a couple good friends that they used the six pack remedy. They said to buy two six packs and put them in the fridge. When you get back from the Doctors place one six pack on your groin. Then start drinking the other six pack. I thought to myself "I can handle this."
I went to the Doctors office with my wife and daughter. I made sure I had my Jock with me. When they called me in for the procedure I kissed my wife and daughter and said that I would be back in a minute. I was pretty nervous. I wasn't sure what to expect. I mean about the pain. The nurse had me strip form the waste down and lay on a table. I was able to cover myself form the waist down. The Doc came in and we started talking about the Lions. Before I knew it he was prodding around down where no MAN had prodded before. It was a little uncomfortable. He asked me if I was doing OK and I said ya. He said that he was going to give me a shot. I said OK. The first part of the prodding was him trying to locate the Vas. I waited for some severe pain. I felt a poke and then some soreness. It really wasn't pain but kind off achy. He then asked me if I could feel any sharpness. I said no just some pressure.
Ten minutes later he said that he was done with the first side. I never really felt a thing. Some pulling and that was it. However, When he went to do the other side it was a little different. I felt like he was pinching my testicle. He made me flinch a couple times. I could feel the shot and the ache again. For some reason the left side hurt a little more. Again it was not as bad as going to the Dentist.
When I got home I put the Ice on my groin. I drank a few beers and watched sports center and the news. My wife played server as a requested more beer and some munches. I never even took an aspirin for the pain.
I wore a jock and iced myself down for two days. I didn't get off the couch much. I missed one day of work. I went back to work on the fourth day. I wore my jock and acted as if nothing ever happened. So far so good for me. I had hardly any swelling and very little pain. To date I have not even taken an aspirin. I have a little discomfort when I bend over or sit on the toilet. For the most part I feel great.
I hope my recollection will help another make the right choice. PS I drank 11 of the beers on the first night. I was hung over the next day but my balls felt fine.
