"I've had paper cuts which hurt more" - straightfoward vasectomy in Melbourne Australia

As nervous as hell after reading some horror stories, I made a booking with one of Australias most experienced doctors at his clinic in Vermont South, Melbourne.

On the day I was given a sedative IV (Midazolam & Fentanyl) and woke up when it was all over. In and out in one and a half hours.

The great part is that despite all I had been reading, I had absolutely no discomfort - I've had paper cuts which hurt more. A little swelling and two small bruises - I didn't even need the frozen peas! (I guess I'll have to eat the two bags I bought for the occasion!)

I was on my feet practically all day Saturday and Sunday (the op was on Friday) Despite this (or maybe because of it) I was just fine. It's now Monday - I'm at work and I've forgotten all about it! I think that by the end of the week I'll have no sensation of anything down there having been done.

Strangely, I have good memory of my "awake" time before and after the IV, even though this stuff is supposed to erase your recallection.

If you are in the Melbourne area I HIGHLY encourage you to check this Doctor out (you will have no trouble finding who I am referring to by what I described) - a little more expensive than most others ($500) but well worth the money.
