What happens if infection sets
in.
Well, I had a vasectomy in 1992. I suffered awful infections afterward, and almost died. Three days after the op, I called the Doctor's office for more pain medication, as I was quite sore. The nurse said she'd call the pharmacy, and hung up. I called again for the next two days, then he finally saw me in his office after one week. I had significant swelling and pain. An intense pulling whenever I would stand up, thickening of the scrota, etc. He prescribed Floxin for 7 days. He did not re-check me for two weeks. I ended up with balls the size of eggplants. The left side broke through the incision site and drained bloody pus for 10 days. The right side, 5 days after that developed a deep abscess that had to be drained by making a hole in the lower right scrotum and inserting a pair of hemostats and "debriding" the abscess. Needless to say, this was excruciatingly painful and horrid to endure.
My wife was my only nurse, and I soiled hundreds of four inch gauze pads. After the infections subsided after 9 weeks, I did my first check for sperm, it was the last time I've ever felt the orgasmic sensation that occurs to the rear of the penis, in the scrotal area. I was left with Levator Ani Syndrome, which is what happens to your scrotal-perennial area following a severe tearing up of the tissue, by surgical or accidental means.
Needless to say, I was very upset with my urological surgeon. He had seriously mistreated my infections. Always insist on a sterile operation. He did it in his office, and was pulling things out of drawers unsterilized, as well not wearing a mask, etc.
Since then, I only have a forward, penile type orgasm, and the scrotal area has pins and needles type of feeling, with no pleasurable orgasm there anymore. So please do insist on the surgeon taking care to not allow infection, and to treat it aggressively with i.v. antibiotics in the clinic or hospital as soon as possible. It screwed up my life miserably. It has caused great pain for my wife and me. I'm still very romantic and love to love her, hut have been seriously diminished in my own sexual pleasure.
