Pictures of normal vasectomy recovery first few days

"Thank you so much for this site. My boyfriend has just had his done, and I was searching the internet for information on what is normal and what isn't. This site has been very helpful so he agreed to let me post his pics and a short write up of what he felt. I thought it might be helpful to the next couple going through this.

Day of Procedure (Friday at 5pm): Very slight pain (similar to being pricked with a needle) during administering of anesthesia. Pricked 6 times and discomfort went away immediately. I did not feel any discomfort or pain during the rest of the procedure. After the procedure I iced 20 minutes on 20 minutes off for the next 7 hours or so. I took one pain pill (hydrocodone10mg/APAP 650mg) one hour after procedure as a precaution and another 4 hours after procedure. Roughly 3 hours after the procedure I started feeling a slight burning and a little ache (less than when getting bumped accidentally). No problems sleeping or urinating, little bit of pain (3 or 4 on scale of 10) when walking, no problems with incision area, very minimal amount of blood on gauze the nurse put there and none on athletic shorts.

Saturday Day 1 (16 to 36 hours after procedure): I woke up feeling a little bit of aching, little bit of discomfort when walking but got better as the day went by. I made a big mistake and went to watch the kids double header game, iced again when came back from game, still a little sore after ice. Note to self: I should have stayed off my feet for 48 hours like the nurse said. Still wearing athletic shorts.

Sunday Day 2: Woke up feeling good, no pain but then did a lot of walking and (big shock). They started swelling and started feeling burning sensation. Stuck back on the couch with ice pack, felt pretty good after ice just dull pain left and swelling went down, still wearing athletic shorts."

	These photos are from day 2 approx 48 hours after procedure: some swelling with a little discomfort. There is slight bruising color under skin on right side. No pain to incision area until pulling penis up to abdomen area for photos.
	Left side.
	There is a very small amount of bruising on left just to the side of the mid incision (adult female thumb nail in photo to show scale).

If you are having a vasectomy, please consider the idea of taking some pictures during your recovery for us to post, as we feel that it will help men know what is, and isn't normal. We aren't looking for just extreme bruising and swelling picture, but also pictures of straightforward vasectomy with normal recovery.
