In this section we list abstracts of scientific articles written for doctors and scientists. Abstracts are a summary of the paper usually written by the paper's author(s). The links on this page take you to the original at the National Library of Medicine (Medline). We try to include as many relevant studies as possible, and update this list regularly. Some abstracts have a bullet point Summary available, and some extracts have a link to other sites that will help explain the terminology, or give a simple explanation of it. Every couple of months I look at the recently published research, and summarise it. We also have a series of research papers by Dr P. S. Jhaver published between 1952 and 1973. This period is particularly interesting because it spans the time when vasectomy transformed from being used for several purposes (with or without the patients consent) to an elective family planning method. A frequently asked question is "How can I participate in trials and studies"? clinicaltrials.gov is the central registry of studies and trials recruiting currently, or in the near future. There should be details by any of the research to contact the people conducting it. Please keep in mind that your doctor is the best interpreter of these abstracts. If they raise questions for you, you should ask him or her to help you make sense of them and how they relate to your personal situation. |

Men undergoing vasectomy reversal many years after vasectomy are at increased risk for secondary epididymal obstruction. When this occurs the intravasal fluid is often a thick, white, toothpaste-like material devoid of sperm. We determine the significance of this fluid in men with obstructive azoospermia. Summary available |
